CRADLEY Heathens are determined to beat the Isle of Wight - and the weather - at Perry Barr tonight (7.30).

Club bosses have set the team a challenge of three vital points to keep their hopes of a play-off place alive in the latter stages of the regular league campaign.

And they have vowed to do all they can to ensure the meeting goes ahead despite the overnight and morning rain.

Club Director Nigel Pearson said: "We have studied various weather forecasts and we are hopeful they prove correct and we should be in for a clear day from late morning onwards.

"It's an important night for the team and we need our fans to show their backing. They came in for some criticism from our manager Will Pottinger who wasn't happy with them at Kent so they have to bounce back tonight.

"We also have new signing Richard Hall making his debut so we are really keen to have a good night."
