HEATHENS V STOKE, PREVIEW

Sunday July 23, 2017
CRADLEY No.1 Danny Ayres knows his side cannot afford any slip-ups when they host Stoke at Monmore Green on Monday (7.30).

The Motor Market Heathens are fighting to earn a spot in the Travel Plus National League play-offs and know a win is vital to keep their top four bid on track.

After losing out away at Belle Vue last week, Ayres wants a victory over the Potters to kick-start a run of form over the remainder of the season.

Ayres said: “We have struggled at times this season, and we know we’ve got to pull our fingers out over the rest of the season.

“It’s not out of our hands yet, but we know we can’t afford any more slip-ups. We’ve got to start getting results and picking up more points.

“Hopefully we can get a good win against Stoke on Monday to start the ball rolling properly because I feel like we just need to put a run of results together.”

Both sides will be at full strength, with Tyler Govier coming into the Heathens’ side at reserve after being snapped up to replace Shelby Rutherford.

CRADLEY: Danny Ayres, Luke Harris, Dan Greenwood, Joe Lawlor, Tom Perry, Conor Dwyer, Tyler Govier.
STOKE: Mitchell Davey, Ryan Terry-Daley, Tony Atkin, David Wallinger, Luke Priest, Paul Burnett, Shaun Tedham.
