CRADLEY team manager Will Pottinger is looking for a faultless performance from his side when Buxton visit Monmore Green tonight (Monday, 7.30).

The Motor Market Heathens boss admits too many errors cost them dearly as they slipped to a 47-43 defeat at Stoke on Sunday – but is glad his riders have the chance to put that disappointment behind them instantly.

With Buxton including former Cradley fans’ favourites Max Clegg and Matt Williamson, who won three league titles between them with the Heathens, Pottinger is expecting an entertaining Travel Plus National League fixture.

“We know what Max and Matt are capable of and the races where they meet our heat-leader should be quite a spectacle I’m sure,” Pottinger said.

“They’ve strengthened elsewhere in recent weeks as well so we can’t afford to take our eye off the ball – particularly after Sunday.

“We threw far too many silly points away and we were extremely disappointed that we didn’t come away from Stoke with the win.

“But thankfully we’ve got a chance to redeem ourselves more-or-less 24 hours later so in many ways that’s a big relief.

“There’s nothing worse than sitting around mulling on things when you’ve had an off day. So it’s a great chance for the lads to get Sunday out of their system, get back to winning ways and hopefully we’ll see some sort of a response.”

The Heathens welcome back heat-leader duo Danny Ayres and Dan Greenwood to their line-up who both missed Sunday’s fixture at Stoke due to SGB Championship commitments.

Meanwhile, recent recruit Shelby Rutherford makes his home debut against the club he left just five days ago.

CRADLEY: Danny Ayres, Joe Lawlor, Dan Greenwood, Luke Harris, Tom Perry, Conor Dwyer, Shelby Rutherford
