LANCE King and his Team USA riders will be in attendance as Cradley host Buxton at Monmore Green on Monday (7.30).

Heathens legend King led his young side to the Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup Race-Off as they finished third in Event One at King’s Lynn on Saturday.

They saw off the Czech Republic to qualify as Great Britain, featuring former Heathens hero Steve Worrall, roared to a magnificent victory.

The USA will now prepare for their trip to Leszno by enjoying Monday’s huge Travel Plus National League clash.

And King, who met with supporters on a hugely successful evening at Halesowen Cricket Club last week, says it has been a perfect trip.

Said King: “I don’t think they expected us to get third, but I know these boys always believed in themselves and I believed in them.

“It doesn’t matter how many points each of them scored, they all fought for each other and fought for their team so I can’t tell you how proud of them I am.

“It was awesome going back to Cradley last week, it’s been since 1989 since I’ve been back. This trip, with the boys qualifying as well, has been a huge success and it’s been brilliant.

“Let’s be honest, we know going to the Race-Off we’re not going to make it, but it’s going to be an amazing experience for these kids and we’ll just enjoy this next week together.”

Meanwhile, Heathens Director Nigel Pearson added: “I’d like to congratulate Team USA on reaching the Race-Off. Three of their side have no experience of riding professionally in Europe, so to beat a very experienced Czech Republic side was a fantastic achievement.

“We’re delighted to welcome them to Cradley for what is a really big meeting for us against Buxton on Monday.”
