STOKE v HEATHENS, PREVIEW

Saturday July 01, 2017
CRADLEY new boy Shelby Rutherford is eyeing a dream debut as they head to Stoke on Sunday (6pm).

Rutherford will make his first appearance in Motor Market Heathens colours as they make the short trip to Loomer Road in the Travel Plus National League.

And Rutherford, who has come in from Buxton to replace injury victim Ryan Burton, hopes his previous outing against the Potters this season can work to his advantage.

Said Rutherford: “I’ve already been to Stoke this season, so I’ve had a couple of laps around the track and I know what to expect.

“Hopefully I can get the setup early on and do a bit better than I did that time. I want to score some points and help Cradley get a win, so fingers crossed.”

The Heathens will be without Danny Ayres and Dan Greenwood, who are in SGB Championship action for Redcar and Newcastle respectively.

They have drafted in Ben Morley and James Cockle to guest, whilst Stoke will be at full strength.

STOKE: Mitchel Davey, Ryan Terry-Daley, Tony Atkin, David Wallinger, Luke Priest, Paul Burnett, Shaun Tedham.

CRADLEY: Ben Morley, Joe Lawlor, James Cockle, Luke Harris, Tom Perry, Conor Dwyer, Shelby Rutherford.
