CRADLEY head to SGB National League newcomers Plymouth on Friday for their first of five straight away fixtures (7.15).

The Motor Market Heathens face the Isle of Wight, Buxton and Lakeside later in the month and will also make the short trip to Leicester in the Ivor Brown Trophy this Saturday also.

And with his side not back in home action until Monday, May 29 against Belle Vue, team manager Will Pottinger is keen to see his side start their away stretch with a minimum of a consolation point.

“It was important for us to go into this run of fixtures with some confidence behind us and the win at home to Lakeside on Monday certainly helped in that respect,” said Pottinger.

“If we can make some good starts at a track like Plymouth then we give ourselves half a chance of getting something out of the meeting.

“Steve Boxall has been flying for them early on in the season but these are the sorts of places we need to be going to and aiming to leave with something to show for our efforts.

“To have serious ambitions of qualifying for the play-offs at the end of the season, you have to pick up points away from home so this is going to be a big few weeks for us.

“It’s a long old journey home from Plymouth but a point, or hopefully more than one, would make it a much more enjoyable trip home.”

The Heathens have drafted in Isle of Wight racer Ben Wilson in place of skipper Tom Perry who is unavailable due to work commitments.

PLYMOUTH: Steve Boxall, Richard Andrews, Lee Smart, Callum Walker, Benji Compton, Robert Parker, Henry Atkins.

CRADLEY: Ben Wilson, Conor Dwyer, Dan Greenwood, Luke Harris, Danny Ayres, Ryan Burton, Joe Lawlor.
