KIDS GO FREE ON MONDAY

Tuesday April 11, 2017
CRADLEY are expecting a bumper crowd for their Bank Holiday Monday clash with Mildenhall at Wolverhampton (7.30).

The club announced over the weekend all children aged 12 and under will be admitted free and, on the back of two straight wins to start the season, there is a feel-good factor around.

They pulled off a hard fought win at Birmingham last Wednesday after seeing off King’s Lynn in style on opening night.

And whilst it’s very early, the signs are encouraging and big winter signing Danny Ayres believes the team will only improve as the season progresses.

“I am still fresh to this game,” he said. “There are lads here that have been doing this longer than I have but I believe I can bring an aura to this team and I am very proud to be a part of it.

“The lads take on the things I say which is nice, I don’t think I know everything but I try to help where I can and we all listen to each other.

“I think we have a solid team. We had mishaps against the champions (Birmingham) and still came out on top, Luke Harris played a blinder, I had never seen him ride like that before. Ryan (Burton)’s confidence will get bigger and bigger, Joe (Lawlor) is doing really well too.

“We are here to do a job and will not rest until we see it through."

Ayres has formed a formidable partnership with Tom Perry at the top end of the team.

“We are working really well together, Tom’s a great rider to have at this level and we are lucky to have him,” he said.

“He knows the scene, knows the score and has far more experience than me at this sport. He’s always there to help the boys out.

“Let’s hope we can make it three wins on the trot against Mildenhall on Monday. I’m ready for them and the rest of the boys are too.”
